VISAS TO THE US
Visa Services
- Non-Immigrant Visas:
We process applications for temporary visas to the United States including tourist and business visas, student visas, and temporary work visas.
Effective January 1, 2008, the application fee for U.S. nonimmigrant visa will increase from $100 to $131.
Because of the crisis in Georgia, the US Embassy Tbilisi consular section is focusing its efforts on providing emergency assistance to American citizens. Therefore, visa services in Tbilisi are temporarily suspended until further notice.
Visa applicants who had visa appointments scheduled at US Embassy Tbilisi—either for immigrant or for nonimmigrant visas—should consider these appointments cancelled. Because the security situation in Georgia is tenuous, applicants should not go to US Embassy Tbilisi in person.
Immigrant visa interviews that were scheduled for Tbilisi will be rescheduled as quickly as possible. More information will be available in the next several days, and updates will be published here.
Immigrant visa cases that are presently at the National Visa Center, and would normally be sent to US Embassy Tbilisi, will be held at the National Visa Center until alternate arrangements can be made. The National Visa Center can be contacted by e-mail at NVCInquiry@state.gov, or by phone at (603) 334-0700.
Residents of Georgia who want to apply for a nonimmigrant visa—to visit, study, etc.—must do so in person at a US Embassy in another country. U.S. Embassy Baku is accepting non-immigrant visa applications for residents of Georgia on a limited, case-by-case basis. Please email the Consular Section at the US Embassy in Baku at consularbaku@state.gov and provide your name, contact information and brief explanation of your request for a visa interview at US Embassy Baku. Applicants will be contacted by the consular section with additional information if their request is approved.
Updated visa information will be posted to the US Embassy Tbilisi website as soon as it becomes available.
Immigrant Visas: We accept I-130 petitions filed by American citizens resident in Azerbaijan for their immediate family members. All interviews for immigrant visas, fiance visas, and diversity visas are conducted in Tbilisi, Georgia.
Announcement about consular offices abroad accepting I-130 immigrant visa petitions. | Note: At the moment all interviews for immigrant visas, fiance visas and diversity visas are temporarily conducted in Moscow until Consular Section of the US Embassy in Tbilisi resumes its immigrant visa services for cases filed in Azerbaijan. |
Online Appointment System:
Announcement: Effective November 5, 2007 the consular section will no longer accept appointment requests via the telephone. Applicants must make appointments via our online appointment system. Please note that applicants are still required to fill out the application form online and will have to provide the barcode number to schedule an appointment.
